Falling Trees

This picture is a of a tree in our Tree Lawn (part of the yard between the street and the sidewalk) that is dead. I know you can't really tell from the picture because the other trees branches are in the way but trust me the thing is DEAD!

The trees that are in the Tree Lawn are the cities responsibility to take care of but they aren't doing a very good job. The tree has been dead since we moved in here over three years ago, but we didn't have any problems with it until this past winter. We got this really bad storm and a bunch of large branches came down.

This tree sits right on our property line and our neighbor ended up with a bunch of branches in his yard to so both he and Dave called the city to let them know that we had a dead tree and it's starting to loose large branches. They told both of us that they would cut it down this spring.

Well guess what it's still up! every time we have a storm or high winds it looses more branches. We've all called the city a bunch of times and we get the same stupid answer.

It's on the list of trees to come down and we will get to it soon.

So soon has come and gone my friends and I'm really starting to get ticked off!

Saturday while I was out shopping at Target we had a nasty storm come through the area. When I got home there was an enormous piece of the tree laying in our front yard along with a million smaller branches that came down and were sticking straight up out of the ground.

This is seriously getting ridiculous. I think this tree is going to come down completely here very soon and when that happens it's going to do one of two things.

1. Completely block our street and take some power lines down.

2. Come crashing through our bedroom.

I really don't want either of those things to happen but I don't know how to get the city over here to take care of it before one of them does happen.

Any suggestions????

Bikini Season

Since my MIL had the kids this weekend and the weather was stormy I decided to go to the store and get a couple of books.

I started out with Bikini Season by Shelia Roberts. This book is about 4 women friends all in different stages of their lives but they share the common goal of loosing weight. They knew in order to really do it they would have to stick together so they formed a club to help each other. The book takes you through each of there lives and the struggles they face while trying to loose the weight and also how it changes each of them.

I was really amazed at how well the author was able to convey each women's feelings and emotions during their process. At the beginning of this year I set out to loose weight and get in shape. It hasn't been an easy process for me. I was able to met my first goal about a month ago but since then I have slacked off even though I don't look the way I want to. This book has given me that kick start to get back on the horse and keep trying. The goal this time is not about weighing a certain amount or even about wearing a certain size in my clothes. This time it's about being healthy for myself so I can be around to see my great grandchildren one day.

So I would recommend this book to anyone who is or has struggled with weight loss or anyone who just enjoys a book about friendship and love.

When I was 14 my best friend (not anymore but that's a whole other story) introduced me to this guy whose parents had a boat at the same Marina hers did. His name was Jordan and he was one of the best looking guys I had ever met in person. It was 1995 so that grudge look was in high swing and let me tell you he looked good in it. He had brown curly hair that came just past his chin and it looked alto like mine and he had these crystal green eyes that made you want to melt when he looked at you. Jordan was also a very good charmer even at that age, you could also tell he was the type of guy that always got what he wanted.

So we started dating even though he went to a differnt school and lived about 30 minutes from me. We would see each other about every other weekend when I would go and spend the night at his house. Now I'm sure most of you are completley shocked by that last comment so let me explain. His parents were always there and I stayed in my own room. I was still a good girl back then and that ended up being the problem. We dated like this for about 4 months and then one day he called me and broke up with me, and he did this by telling me that he was cheating on me and he had almost the entire time we were together because I wouldn't sleep with him.

I was devestated by this, I THOUGHT I loved him! Looking back now I know it wasn't even close to love and I'm Thanking God I didn't sleep with this fool. what was really weird was he would call me from time to time through the rest of high school, even after I started seeing Dave. Dave hated when he would call and didn't understand why. I didn't either and I usually wouldn't talk to him. Actually I never would answer the phone when it was him so the only time I talked to him was when my mean sister would pick up the phone and tell him I was there.

Now as I've mentioned before my husband is a sells cars but he hasn't been doing this for very long. He started at his first dealership in May of last year. Since he had never done this he was paied up with someone who had and in the first few days this guy taught him alot. Dave would come home and talk about this Jordan and how he was really helping him, but he had this kind of crazy temper. About a week after being there Dave comes home one night and starts telling me all this stuff he ahd learned that day about this Jordan. He had a brother who was a minister, and a mother who was an Interior Designer, he went to school in Worthington. My stomach instantly got that sick feeling and I thought to myself "No Freaking Way!". So I asked Dave what this Jordan's last name was and he tells me he doesn't know (which I found hard to believe) and he asks why? I told him that this Jordan has a lot of similarities to my ex boyfriend Jordan and Jordan isn't exactly a common name for a guy.

About five minutes late Dave says to me yeah he said he used to date this girl Jessie who wore this vanillia sented perfume.

Alright Dave is it my ex because you know I wore Bath and Body Works vanialla back then and he did call me Jessie. Thats when Dave finally says yep it's your ex.

Now it wasn't bad enough that my husband was now working with the ex that broke my heart but the way he found out is just not good. So here is the conversation that Dave had with Jordan that night.

They were talking about where they were from and Dave told Jordan he was from Groveport. Jordan asked him if he went to school there and Dave said yes. Then Jordan proceededs to tell him he knew some people that went there, this one girl Beth (Ex friend) Dave of course says oh I know her, so then Jordan says oh well then you might know this girlfriend I used to have Jessie. At this point I think most people would have jumped in and said oh thats my wife or at least yeah I know her but not my Dave, he wanted to find out mre I guess so he acted like he didn't know who I was. This made Jordan go into how I had the cutest curly hiar and the prettiest eyes, and I always smelled like vanillia and everytime he smells that he thinks of me and how much he screwed up. he even referred to me as "the one that got away". Still Dave has not told him we are married instead he asks him how I got away. Thankfully Jordan was honest about everything and he told Dave he cheated alot because I wouldn't sleep with him and abck then that was what was important to him.

Finally Dave tells him that he is the Dave I started dating back in high school and that we are married now. I guess the look on Jordan's face was priceless and he didn't say anything for about 5 minutes, how could you! Somehow Dave and Jordan figured out a way to work with each other but it bugged the crap out of me. It just weird and what are the odds of something like that happening. At some point Jordan decided to move out to California with his mom but he still calls Dave every so often which again is weird because Dave doesn't like him but I think it's one of those keep your enemies close things, I'm just glad they don't work together anymore.

So why am I telling you this story? Well Insane Mama over at Help I Have A Teenager asked the question today about what smells get you going and since Dave just had a call from Jordan it reminded me of his comment about my vanillia perfume. My smell however is of the cologne Dave wore when we first started dating, it always makes me smile.

Friday's Foto Finish Fiesta

So a while ago I shared my all time favorite picture of Emma so it's only fair that I share my all time favorite picture of Ian.

This picture was taken in mid October of 2006. Every year the babysitter takes a field trip to a near by farm that does a bunch of stuff for Halloween. This was Ian's first trip to the farm and it was a freezing cold day. It really sucked because the sitter bought all the kids these rally cute skeleton shirts and her daughter painted the kids names on the backs so that the letters looked bones, they were super cute! Even though it was cold and no one could see their shirts it was still a fun day and I was able to catch this awesome picture.

Photobucket Now go right over to Candid Carries by clicking on her adorable link and join in our fun. We don't bite!

hole & "HOLE"

When I walked into the sitters this evening Emma was sitting in the Time Out spot and she had that poor me look on her face.

Of course I immediately asked her what she did and she whispered something that I couldn't understand. I was thinking to myself oh great this is going to be bad because only when she has done something really bad does she act like that.

After asking her to speak up twice I finally get her to tell me that she was showing one of the other girls there the hole in her underwear. Ok not very lady like but not that big of a deal.

Now the sitter must have seen the look of confusion on my face because she says oh it was a little more than that. Ok now I have to know what the heck is going on.

My sitter proceeds to tell me that while she was talking to one of the other kids mother she looked over at Emma and saw her sitting with her legs wide apart (she's wearing a dress today) and her crotch is hanging out of her underwear while one of the other girls is bent over looking at Emma's crotch. The babysitter immediately asked what they were doing and Emma says;

"She's looking at my hole!"

After the babysitter and the other mother picked their jaws up off the floor the babysitter asked her again what in the world they were doing and again Emma says;

"Becca wanted to see my hole!"

(I have to say at this point in the story I am cracking up to the point I am about to pee my pants because Emma had shown me the hole in her underwear last night while we were sitting in the basement waiting for the storm to pass and I forgot to change them when it was over, so i knew exactly where this was going.)

At that point the babysitter said she started to think there was a serious problem and she really thought that this other girl was teaching Emma things she shouldn't be (it's happened before because this girl has an older sister who knows way more than she should about things). So the babysitter starts to yell at both the girls that it's not ok to show each other their private areas and as she was asking them why they were doing that Emma interrupts her and says;

"I wasn't showing her my privates I was showing her the hole in my underwear!"

I guess both the other mother and the babysitter started busting out laughing at this point because, well because it's just darn funny!

Now I'm sure your asking yourself why was Emma's crotch hanging out when the sitter looked over. Well we aren't really sure but from where the hole was in the underwear and the way Emma's hand were holding them we think Emma pulled her underwear out to show the little girl and by doing that she exposed her crotch. Also Emma wasn't really in time out the babysitter had just separated the two of them and she was talking to them about why we don't show other people our underwear or private areas.

Thunderstorms & Tornados

I have always been scared of storms, at the slightest hint of thunder or lightning I tense up and I have to put the TV on a news station just to make sure I know whats happening.

As a kid when the warnings would come across the tops of the screen saying we were in a Tornado Watch I would spring into action and gather up all my favorite belongings and take them to the basement and put them under the table where we would have to sit. I also made sure to take a flashlight and radio down with me. This was not normal behavior for a 7 or 8 year old but it's what I did. I did this for about 3 or 4 years before my mom finally said I wasn't allowed to anymore or she would keep all the things I took to the basement. Of course I didn't listen to her and I would just sneak things down and hide them where she wouldn't find them.

Then one Saturday afternoon in the middle of the summer, Mom, Steph, Nick, and I walked out of the mall to go home and the skies were very very dark. Of course this freaked me out and I started to have my mini panic attacks. We quickly got int he car and made our way home. On the drive we stared to hear the Tornado Sirens. When we pulled into the driveway one of our neighbors ran over and said that a there was a touchdown and the Tornado was moving right towards us. Mom rushed us inside and straight to the basement under the big table. She was about to go back upstairs to get a flashlight and the radio but because of my sneakiness the day before during some storms they were already down there and it's a good thing. Shortly after that we could hear the rain kind of stop and the winds pick up. I was so scared and I didn't think it was ever going to end.

I don't know how long we were down there but it seemed like forever. Finally, my mom felt safe enough to go upstairs and check things out. Shortly after she went up she called down to us and said it was OK. Being a kid I didn't know what to expect, I guess something like what was in the movie TWISTER. Thankfully it wasn't that bad. It was a small Tornado that came through and all though it caused damage no one was hurt and no one lost their homes. We had a few large branches from our trees fall in the yard but that was it. Our neighbor across the street did have a tree branch fall through the rough of their gargae and hit their brand new corvette. After that storm my mom never got made at me for beign well preppared (yes thats what I'm calling it folks so play along).

Since then I have been through 3 more Tornado's just like that and it has only increased my fear of all storms. To this day whenever there are Tornado Warnings I gather up all the nessesities like : my purse, camera, Ian's diaper bad with Diapers & wipes, shoes, flashlight, bottled water, cell phone, and blankets. If it's during the day I try and grab somethign for the kdis to play with like coloring books. My husband makes fun of me for this but you know old habits die hard and I am a firm beliver in better safe than sorry!

Now you might be wondering why I'm writtign all of this and I will tell you. Last night at about 11:30 I was woken up to the sound of the Tornado sirens going off. They kind of came out of nowhere. Of course I instantly sprang into action. We turned the local news on and while Dave listen to that I grab all the stuff I needed and took it to the basement. When I got abck up the meteorologist was staying that he thought the National Weather Service may have jumped the gun on this storm. So Dave and I sat and watched the stomr moving through the city. About 30 minutes into which was at midnight one of the other metorologist came into the news stuido and said that he saw a wall cloud on his way in and just as he was saying that you saw the hail cell of the storm get that hook pattern which means there is rotation. The storm was alos moving right towards us so we decided it was time to get eh kids up and go to the basement. The kids and I sat in teh basement for the next 30 minutes until the warning ended.

Somewhere between downtown and our area the storm died down and lost the rotation and there was never a touch donw. After it was all over we went back upstairs and the kdis ended up in bed with Dave and I because they didn't want to go back to their rooms.

Since this affected so many of us we ahve been talking about it here at work and everyone thinks I'm nuts for getting the kids up like I did. This is really bugging me because what if I hadn't got them up and the storm didn't die down. You never know with these things, they have a mind of their own and it's not ricking my life or the lives of my kids. I actually think the people that didn't do anything are the crazy ones becasue one day that attitude may come back to bite them in the butt.

So here's the question, do you listen to the warnings and seek shelter when you should or do you ignore them?

I never ever remember my dreams. Even when I was pregnant I didn't remember my dreams, I've always been like this.

Well last night I had a dream and I remembered it this morning. Since this never happens to me I decided to share my dream with all of you. It really isn't anything special or funny but it's a big deal for me so be nice.

Ok here goes! My dream was that Dave sold 6 cars at work today and then another 6 cars the rest of this week which would put him at a total of 27 for the entire month. The most anyone sales person has sold at his dealership in one month is 25 so he set a new record and for that the General Manager told him that he could pick out any 2 cars on the lot to have. One for me and one for Dave, free of charge. Of course I picked out a cooper CX-9 (third row SUV) fully loaded, and by fully loaded i mean, bows (probably misspelled) sound system, navigation, moon roof, rear entertainment, Chrome wheels, leather heated seats, automatic windshield wipers.(picture on the left) Dave got a CX-7 (SUV) in Black Cherry fully loaded. (picture on the right and in person you don't see the reddish purple tint it just looks black)

That was my dream! Now Dave is a car salesman and he wants to sell 6 more cars before the end of the month to hit a record for himself of 21 cars in one month. I am pretty sure that's where that part of the dream came from. I'm not surprised that I would be dreaming about this either because most of our conversations these days revolve around him and his work. See he was recently promoted to the Internet Sales Manager at Mazda Direct. It was a big deal when it happened two months ago and since then he has been kicking some major ass. He has done so well that they have decided to keep the dealership open. It was set to close towards the end of this summer so they could build a new store for their Toyota dealership, but now Mazda Direct is turning a pretty good profit so they aren't closing it. This is really good news because Dave was bummed about not being able to sell Mazda's, he really likes the product and the company.

I wish I could say why they gave us two brand new cars of our choice but I can't. I also wish they really were giving them to us but I don't think it matters how many cars Dave sells in one month. If we want those SUV's we will have to buy them ourselves.

Alright, there it is the first dream I have remembered having in YEARS!!! Now no making fun of me.

Serious Pain

When I was in 4th or 5th grade (can't really remember) we were checked for scoliosis in school. The nurse wasn't quit sure if I had it or not so she sent a note home to my mom telling her to have it checked. Well we went to the doctors and sure enough my spine was crocked. At that time it was a very, very, very small curvature so the doctor wasn't worried about it and told my mom to watch it.

As I got older it got worse, but still not to bad. In middle school I started experiencing some minor pain occasionally so they did some more x-rays and found that I actually have a double curvature. My spine curves in and to the left in the same exact spot, which happens to be in my lower back. They told me then that staying active and maintaining strong core muscles would help hold the spine where it was and also help with any pain I might have.

Staying active was not a problem back then. I was very active in Dance and baton and then in high school I was in the Color Guard. However my spine did continue to curve but every so slightly through those years. By the time I graduated High School you could tell that I was crooked when I stood straight up.

After High School things started to change. I was having more pain in my back almost to the point of everyday but the pain was not bad, it was just kind of their. At that point the doctors gave me some special exercised that would help build the muscles in my back and told me to keep exercising.

Then I got pregnant with Emma and Oh My GOD!!! The pain I started to experience during my pregnancy was unbearable but there wasn't anything they could do other than monitor it and tell me to do as little as possible. My doctor did tell me though that about 80% of women who have scoliosis come out of pregnancy better off than when the started. The thought of that was very exciting to me and might have been what got me through that pregnancy.

Well, I fell in that ever so small 10% category and mine only got worse. I went through my second pregnancy praying that this time it would get better but nope again worse! Now I'm sure part of the problem after my pregnancies was due to all the extra weight my body was carrying. I don't think my frame was made to be fat. If any of you have read my older post you know that since January I have been loosing weight and this has helped some but not enough. At this point my only option would be surgery and at age 27 that really isn't an option.

This brings me to today. When my alarm went off and I tried to get up I almost couldn't because I was in so much pain. Usually I only experience this much pain when the weather changes from warm to cold. Somehow I managed to get out of bed and go to work which was a BIG MISTAKE!!! I spent most of the day trying to find a somewhat comfortable way to sit in my chair. The other half of the day I spent rubbing my lower back hoping that the pain would go away. Needless to say I didn't get much work done. Since the Advil and back rubbing have done nothing at all to help I have come to the conclusion that my back is trying to KILL ME! Seriously folks it hurts this much and if I wake up tomorrow feeling like this I will not be going into work but into the doctors office for some serious pain killers.

*PS: Sorry I haven't been around much lately. I have spent the last few days making a Photo Book on Shutterfly because I got a coupon for a free 8x8 and the order had to be placed by today. If any of you have seen one of these you know why it was so important to take advantage of. *

Platform and Springboard Diving

Yeserday afternoon while Ian was napping Emma and I were channel surfing and we came across the Womens Springboard and Platform Diving Olympic Trials so we decided to watch. Emma instantly fell in love with it. She thought it was the coolest thing she had ever seen. Of course she started asking a million, zillion question that I did not know the answers to. When ever I don't know the answer to something I always tell the kids to ask their daddy, I know that horrible but it gets me out of the hot seat.

About an hour into watching this we had this conversation;

Emma: Mommy I want to do this.
Me; OK sweetie, one day you can if you want to.
Emma: No I want to do it now!
Me: Emma you can't do it now.
Emma: Why not?
Me: You need to learn how to swim first.
Emma: I know how to swim.
Me: No you don't, not like you need to. You would have to be able to hold your breath under water without plugging your nose and swim underwater and you don't know how to do either of those.
Emma: Well will you teach me?
Me: I don't knwo how but maybe we can find someone who can.

After that I went into the kitchen to start dinner and I hear all this noise coming from the living room so I went in there. Emma had pulled the chairs that go to her little table out and was using them as a diving baord so everytime one of the women would jump she would to. Now if I had been smart I would have grabbed my camera but no I didn't. It still was very cute and I'm not sure yet but maybe we have a diver on our hands.

Friday's Foto Finiah Fiesta

So yesterday when I picked the kids up from the sitters this is what my baby boy looked like. He did not look like that when I dropped him off in the morning. Apparently he was running when he tripped and fell on his face cutting it up and his knee. I did my best to get a good picture of this but none of them turned out that well. He has a huge patch of skin missing on the side of his nose and there is another patch missing on his forehead but his hair is covering that up. His knee is probably the worst of all, he is missing the layer of skin that covers his knee cap and you can tell it hurts because he is hobbling around. I really hope my baby heals fast and that he doesn't have any scars on his face.

Mr. Wilson

This past week I have posted two pictures of Mr. Wilson not realizing that in both of them he was down on all fours. Of course Mrs. Stuckmann did notice and she left this comment for me.

Dear Mr. Wilson,

It is very kind of you to allow Mrs. Wilson to post pictures of you. As one of her countless readers, I would appreciate seeing a picture of you in an upright position rather than the repeated position of being down on all fours. Unless being on all fours is the "buckeye" way, then "way to go, Dave."

So first off Carrie, I don't think Dave knows that I posted pictures of him. Since you asked I figured I would make you happy and this post is all about Dave with pictures and all.

The first picture is my favorite baby picture of Dave. He was three in this one and I just want to pinch his fat little cheeks. Also can you see the similarities between him and Ian? It kills me how much the two of them look alike.

Next up is one of Dave's senior pictures in his Law Enforcement uniform. Dave and I started dating during his junior year of high school and his first year at the career center in the Law Enforcement program. We were both in band and it was first period at the high school so he would come to band and leave straight from there to his school and he had to wear his uniform. Man did he look good in that uniform!!

Now I do not want to hear any of those "and this one time at band camp" comments because the next picture is from Dave's senior Band Formal. Yes our band had a Band Formal every spring for the members of band and their dates. I would actually have to say it was nicer than the proms at our school. We rented a ball room, we had it catered, DJ'd, and we had professional pictures. This picture is my favorite of all the formal pictures we had done and the dress I am wearing was my all time favorite formal dress.

Moving on; In the fall of 2001 Dave and I took an all expense trip to an all inclusive resort in the Bahamas. During our trip we took a tour of the city and one of the stops was at a Botanical Garden. In the garden they had a lady with a bunch of exotic birds and you could hold them. The one on top of Dave's head was a female that fell madly in love with Dave and if I tried to touch him she would peck at me. I can't say I blame her, he is one amazing man. :)

On to Dave at our wedding. I did include this picture in my second blog entry ever. It is my favorite wedding picture of the two of us. It was taken in the gardens at our reception site and it was the last one taken of Dave where he didn't have an annoyed look on his face. As I mentioned before Dave hates to have his picture taken and we had a million taken for our wedding. He was also annoyed with how the rest of the bridal party was in the reception hall drinking and he was stuck outside taking more pictures.

This picture was taken the day Emma was born. I know you can't really see his face but I LOVE this one of him with her. Even though you can't see his face you can still see how proud he is and how much he all ready loves his little pumpkin. Every time I see this one I want to cry.

This next picture is in the OR right after they took Ian out of me. Yes I had a c-section with him because I had one with Emma and my Doctor does not do VBAC's (not that I wanted one). It might be hard to tell because of the angle of this one but look closely at Dave's eyes and you can see how excited he was to meet his son. You also can't tell from this picture but Dave had been up for over 24 hours at this point. Ian was about 3 1/2 weeks early so we were not expecting to have him yet. Because of that Dave stayed up the entire night before playing computer games and we ended up leaving for the hospital around 8 in the morning. Since I was in labor all day and they were monitoring me very closely there were constantly people in and out of our room. Let's just say it was one long day. Oh and no comments on how I look, this is all about Mr. Wilson.

Alright folks this is the last picture. This was taken last week while Dave was doing some yard work. Yes he has sunglasses on but it's the most recent picture I have of him not down on all fours.

So there you have Mr. Wilson in all his glory. I hope you have enjoyed my walk down memory lane and Carrie are these pictures better?

My Pork Issues

So Candid Carrie has a very good post today about her fear of pork and how she has somewhat overcome that fear. Now I don't have a fear of pork at all but her post reminded me of a story involving some pork from my childhood and I thought I would share it with you.

First I should tell you that I love ham, bacon, and sausage. I could eat one of those items every day but that would probably give me a heart attack by age 30 and we just can't have that. Now I do not in any way like any other meat that comes from a pig especially pork chops. I'm not sure where my hatred of pork chops started all I know is that as long as I can remember I haven't liked them.

As a child my mother knew I did not like them so she didn't make them very often but when she did she always tried to get me to try them again. I think she thought that if I kept trying them I would eventually like them but that didn't happen.

My tenth birthday was set to be an absolutely big birthday. I knew I was getting the second hole in my ears pierced and a brand new 10 speed bike and those were just the presents I knew about. Of course knowing I was getting them made it so much harder to wait for them. The Saturday before my birthday my mom went and let me pick out the bike I wanted and she bought it then but I was not allowed to ride it until my birthday which was complete torcher for a 10 year old. I really wanted to have a present I could use, since I knew I was getting my ears pierced I started bugging my mom to take me that day to have it done. Looking back now I am sure she wanted to tape my mouth shut after the 5th time I asked her that day and by the 300th time she probably wanted to kick me out of the house.

Since I didn't wear her down by bed time Saturday night I decided that I was not going to let it go and the minute I got up Sunday morning I began begging again. I begged all the way to church and all the way home. I had become so desperate that I was starting to say things like " If you take me today I will clean my room every day for a year" or "If you take me today I will unload the dishwasher for a week and clean my room every day for a year." About every 5 minutes while mom was cooking lunch I came into the kitchen with a new one and it continued through lunch which happen to be pork chops, potatoes, and peas.

Finally when everyone was almost done with their lunch my mom turned to me and said "If you eat all of your pork chop then I will take you to get your ears pierced today". I couldn't believe it she had finally given in, but I had to eat that nasty piece of meat, how in the heck was I going to eat this thing. Before I started I made sure she was serious and even had a witness so she couldn't back out of her promise. I was not about to eat the most disgusting thing ever for her to not follow through.

After a few minutes of giving myself a pep talk I took my first bite. Oh it was so gross and I almost gagged but I just kept telling myself I could do it, I could do it, I could do it. Each bite became harder and harder to keep down. Somehow I managed to eat every piece of my pork chop and I even called my mom in to see my plate. As soon as she walked in and saw it I took off running to the bathroom. I had eaten every piece and every piece was working it's way back up, there was no way that crap was going to stay in my system. So you all know NO I did not get sick on purpose I have this weird thing that if I don't like the way food taste and eat it anyway I get sick.

When I was finished getting sick and came back into the kitchen I asked my mom when we were leaving for the mall and she said we're not. What, why not I asked? You didn't keep up your end of the bargain. Oh no I said, I ate the pork chop just like you said. Then my mom says to me that no you didn't you threw it up so you didn't really eat it. Now at the young age of 10 I came back with, are you ready???

"You said I had to eat it, which I did, not that I had to keep it down"

Oh yeah, I got her there. I think the look on her face then was better than the look when she came into the kitchen to see my clean plate, it was awesome. Within a few minutes my mom had Steph and Nick cleaned up and ready to go and I got my ears pierced two days before my birthday and all I had to do was eat that piece of pork.

A few years ago my sister and I were talking about this story at a family function and my mom over heard us and she told me that she really truly didn't think I would ever eat that pork chop which is why she threw that out there. She was completely shocked when I ate and it then she felt horrible when I got sick, and lastly she was stunned when I gave her the keep it down line.

To this day I still do not like pork chops and I refuse to even try them, I think this experience ruined it for me for my whole life.

Backyard Baseball

The weather here in Ohio is amazing right now and it was absolutely wonderful tonight. So after dinner Dave and I took the kids outside to play. Of course they had to get the whole bucket of toys out and then only wanted to play with the t-ball set.

It was quite cute to see little Ian swing the tiny tiny bat at the ball. For only being two the boy can hit a ball and we think he is going to be a lefty. Emma had her shots to and was doing very well. After about 20 minutes of the two of them taking turns hitting the ball. Dave and I thought it might be fun to play to. So he started pitching to me while I hit. Surprisingly it all came back to me and I was doing pretty well.

Of course the kids wanted in so I helped Ian bat while Daddy pitched to us. Ian loved every minute of it. Then it was Emma's turn. I was helping her a first but she wanted to try by herself so badly. So I helped her get her stance and off she went. She actually got a few hits which surprised me and she didn't mad or frustrated when she missed.

While Dave was pitching to Emma Ian was standing beside Dave copying every move he made. I've been saying this since Ian was born but I think he is going to be a Baseball player just like his daddy. He has always had a good and accurate arm on him and he is leaning the whole batting thing. I guess only time will tell if I'm right. What surprises me is Emma may be into softball. Again only time will tell.

I think we may have another round tomorrow evening because when it was time to clean up the kids both threw fits because they wanted to keep playing. If we are able to play tomorrow I am going to do my best to get some pictures. I really wished I had the camera out tonight but I was a little busy playing.

Happy Father's Day

I just want to wish my husband a very Happy Father's Day. He is an amazing father to our children and works so hard to give our children the things we didn't have growing up.

My father passed away when I was 5 and Dave has never met his father so our children growing up in a home with both parents is something that means more to us than I can explain.

I would also like to wish my dad a Happy Father's Day! I know he is watching over me and my family and I wish he could be hear with us.

Another father I need to mention is my Papa Earl (mom's dad). My Papa Earl died on June 14, 1986 and I just want him to know that we are thinking about him on this Father's Day.

Lastly, I want to say Happy Father's Day to all the father's out there. I hope you have a wonderful day.

Sex and the City

My sister and I finally made it out to see Sex and the City. Both of us have been huge fans of the show since it started and when we found out a few years ago that they were going to make a movie we promised we would see it together. Well that was a little easier said then done. My sisters schedule is absolutely crazy, plus right now is the busy season for Dave at work so he hasn't been home too much. That leaves me very limited for a babysitter.

So since my MIL was taking the kids for the weekend we decided to go last night. In our city we have an Arena district that has an awesome movie theater, The Arena Grande that has a bar and restaurant in the theater. For a movie it's a little far of a drive so I have never been either has my sister. I must say that it is worth the drive. There aren't very many kids there so it's much more of an adult theater which is so so so nice.

We got there about an hour early so we went up to the restaurant and we both ordered a 5 cheese grilled cheese pani. It was super good and probably the cheesiest grilled cheese I have ever had. Then we headed in to the theater to watch the movie.

The movie itself was so good. I wont spoil it because I know a few of my readers haven't seen it yet and want to see it. I will say that I loved it all, but my sister had a small problem with the way it ended. She thinks Carrie made the wrong decision in the end. If you have seen it what do you think?

All in all it was a very nice evening, and I had a great time hanging out with my sister.

Friday's Foto Finish Fiesta

You should know what this means by now and if you don't I will explain at the end of this post.

Ok ladies, this weeks picture is one of Ian with his Daddy. Since I still can't find the one I was looking for last week I had to come up with something else and I realized I haven't shared one of Dave. It was not easy to find one of him because he really doesn't like to have his picture taken. Big surprise right.

Anyway, this is one I caught of Ian playing with his daddy. Ian was about 8 months old and crawling. He always thought it was funny when Dave would crawl over top of him so they did that allot. The best part was Ian could crawl at the speed of light but Dave being old (not really old but I like to give him a hard time) and out of shape had major problems keeping up with the little guy.

Now if you still haven't joined Candid Carries club you can click her adorable picture and head on over where she has all the rules for you. Can't wait to see what picture you picked today.

When I Grow Up...

A few minutes ago Emma informed me that she wants to be a Doctor when she grows up. Not just any doctor but one that takes care of people like her. I think she means a Pediatrician. She also asked me if I would look stuff up on the computer so I could teach her how to do everything, "like give shots and stuff". I told her she would have to wait until she is older and then she can go to a special school to learn all of that because mommy does not know and wont be able to learn it from the computer.

Sometimes I really wonder where she comes up with this stuff.

This conversations did reminded me of a similar one when she was about 2. Emma said she wanted to be a policewomen like daddy wanted to be a policeman. She would even walk around and pretend to arrest you or pull you over. She always did exactly what your supposed to as a cop. I think she learned it all from watching COPS with daddy.

It also has me trying to remember what I wanted to be when I grew up. So much so that I even called my mom and asked her if she ever remembers me saying "when I grow up I want to be......". Unfortunately if I ever said this she doesn't remember what it was and I don't remember it either. The only thing I do know is that I have always known that I would be a mother, maybe that what I thought I would be and if so I did it.

Now in my head as I am typing this post I am thinking to myself am I doing what I wanted to do. I mean I do like my job but there is one thing I would like to do but I'm not sure about so I googled when I grow up and it took me to this site.

It's a very quick quiz that tells you what you should be doing. Here is what it said about me:

You Should Be a Manager

You're very organized, motivated, and methodical.
Fair and objective, you can see all sides of a conflict. You are a good mediator.
You are task oriented. You do well with deadlines and schedules.
And while you can be a task master at times, you're good at managing people and listening to their input.

You do best when you:

- Must have attention to detail
- Are in charge of people

You would also be a good accountant or personal assistant.

Holly crap, it's pretty accurate. I am not an accountant but I work in the Bookkeeping section of my office and I am very detailed and task oriented.

So here is my question to you. What did you want to be when you grew up, and are you that??? Does it fit your personality??

Things I Learned Today!

Today has been a very iformative day for me. I have learned a few things about my children that I did not know, some good, some bad, and some just plain weird.

What, you ask are these things I've learned? Well I will tell you and in the order I learned them.

1. Ian has learned how to spit and for the past two weeks whenever he gets mad or upset with one of the kids at the sitter's house he spits on them. He has not done this at home so it was news to me. On a side note, if you have any suggestions on how to stop this PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE let me know.

2. Emma apparently picks the buggers out of Ian's nose on a regular basis. Just as I was getting ready to leave the sitter's house this morning I noticed Ian had a giant green bugger in his nose and I went to get it out of his nose (with a tissue), but he screamed and ran away from me. The sitter thought this was funny and I wasn't understanding why untill she told me that most days she will catch Emma picking Ian's nose for him. He doesn't scream or run away from her and she always puts them in a tissue and throws it in the trash when she's done so the sitter lets her do it.

3. On top of spitting on kids now Ian is also pinching nipples when he gets mad. Yes you heard me right pinching nipples! Let me just tell you all, this really hurts and I was shocked when he reached down and did it to me this evening. At that point Emma told me that Ian did that to her to and he learned it from one of the other boys at the sitter's house. I'm sure when I tell Dave he will be oh so proud but I am not so happy about the titi twister habit and it had better stop!

4. Emma has a new found facination with leaves. She doesn't care what kind, or shape, or if they are alive or dead she just likes them. I'm not sure what this means if anything all I know is when I went to get her clothes out to pack in her bag for tomorrow I came across a huge pile of leaves in her dresser drawer.

5. Last but not least Ian told me tonight that he will not use the potty anymore because he doesn't like it. This after he finally pooped in the potty a few days ago. We gave him tons and tons of praise and he even got a giant Kit Kat bar, or as he says Kittie Kat bar. I am really begining to think that he will have to be home schooled because he wont be potty trained by the time he is 5.

So there you have it!

The Wilson's House

When I first started this blog I didn't post a picture in my profile for a couple of reasons. One being that I didn't know how yet (I'm a little slow with all this tech stuff), and two I didn't know what picture I would want up. I've been thinking about it for a while now and I had this thought that maybe it would be cute to use a picture of my house since my title is The Wilson's House. I decided that I would go outside and take some pictures of the front of our house just to see how they came out. That was a few weeks ago but I still wasn't sure if that was what I wanted to do. Finally I asked one of my friends and she said that was a cute idea. I sure hope she wasn't just saying that because I did it.

After I figured out how to add the picture and where to add it at I started thinking that maybe I should do a post about our house. I probably should have done one back in the beginning but it never crossed my mind until this weekend. So after some more consideration I thought what the heck.

So The Wilson's House isn't quite the Wilson's house. When Ian was born we were living in a two bedroom apartment. When I found out I was pregnant with him I had just gone back to work and we weren't in the position to buy a home, but we really didn't want to move to another apartment. So shortly after Ian was born we started looking for a house to rent. We were not having much luck, the house that were being rented were either way to expensive, or not very nice. The problem was that as each day went by Ian got bigger and took up more and more room in our tiny little apartment.

Then one day my friend emailed me asking if Dave and I were still looking for a house to rent in the Groveport area. Of course , yes, why? was my response to her. It just so happened that one of her co-workers owned a home in the Groveport area and with the market being so crummy they were having problems selling it so they wanted to rent it out. My wonderful friend sent us a few pictures of the house and Dave and I drove by it to see what the outside looked like. We liked what we saw on the outside but we could tell it was an older home so that combined with it being on the market for so long made us wonder. After about a week of thinking we decided to at least set up an appointment to look at it.

The minute we walked in we were hooked, we just had to have it. The only problem was that there was someone that possibly was interested in buying the home. After one very long week we got the phone call that the couple did not want to buy it which meant we could rent the house for 2 years. We were so excited!!!

I'm sure you are wondering what was so special about this house. Well other than the feeling of being home as soon as we walked in the door there were many reasons. Something that Dave and I have always agreed on is that we wanted to find an older home opposed to the new ones in the neighborhoods with the Home Owners Associations and all their rules, that are placed so close together and look the same. For any of you that own these I'm sure it's a great house just not for me and I am not trying to offend you in anyway.

As you can tell from the picture our house is defiantly not one of those. The house was built in 1861 and is the second oldest house in the village. The living room, dining room, and the kids bedrooms upstairs are the original part of the house. The kids room still have the original hard wood floors and the other rooms have the original base boards. These elements add allot of character and charm to our house. We also have the original trim around the windows and the previous owners did a great job in copying this aspect as they added additions and did renovations. Of course since the house was built there have been a few renovations and some additions added like Dave's office, and the master bedroom. The most recent renovation was done to the kitchen which I LOVE. It has gorgeous white cabinets and is actually pretty spacious.

We are also pretty lucky to have the yard we do. The front of the house sits pretty close to the street, which by the way is cobble stone, and it's nice that it does because we don't have a driveway so we park on the street. We also have a nice sized front porch with a cute swing on it.

Now onto one of the best features of the house, the backyard. It is huge an goes all the way to the alley behind us which means we don't back up to anyone. There is a cute little shed that has the same siding and trim as the house and a very nice patio that has a flower bed on each side with a picket style privacy fence that lines the back of the beds. This gives us some privacy from the neighbors on each side when we are sitting out there. Oh and our two neighbors are absolutely amazing, we really couldn't ask for more when it comes to them.

The longer we live in this house the more and more we want to own it. Of course there are things we don't like or we would like to change but I think that is just part of owning a home. If things work according to our plan then this time next year we will be purchasing this home and some of those projects will be begin. The thought of this makes me so excited and I pray every night that this is the right decision and it all works out. Growing up I always wanted to live in an older, even historical home and I can't believe I am.

So there you have it The Wilson's House (or soon to be Wilson's House). I hope you have enjoyed the tour!

My Mexican Feast

My sister called shortly after she got into town yesterday and she mentioned that non of her roommates were back from their vacations and she didn't want to be in the house alone so she was thinking about going to our brothers for the night. Since I had already planned on making Mexican food (some of Steph's favorite) I asked if she wanted to join us for dinner. Of course she said yes because I made my homemade salsa.

So the menu was as follows;

Corn on the Cob cooked on the grill served with a chili lime butter
Taco's with: Ground Beef, Black Beans, Mexican Rice, Salsa, Sour Cream, Cheese, and Lettuce

The taco's were going to be served as salad's in a bowl made from the shells, or the traditional soft shells.

So I started the meat, rice, and corn, then I put the Taco shells on the balls of aluminum foil and placed them in the over to brown. I set the timer for the appropriate amount of time according to the directions and went about my business.

Of course fro whatever reason Ian was in one of those moods where he wanted to be held while I cooked dinner and I wouldn't pick him up because I was too busy stirring this, chopping that, or running out to the grill to check on the corn. So Ian followed me around pulling at my shorts crying for the majority of the 20 minutes it took for everything to cook.

When about 5 minutes was left on the shells I decided to check on them to see how they were coming. I opened the oven door just an inch and all this smoke started pouring out. So much smoke that it burned my eyes and I couldn't see. I immediately closed the door and turned the kitchen fan on but the kitchen was already full of smoke and I new at any minute the smoke detectors were going to go off. So I ran around the house opening windows and turning on all the fans to clear the smoke out.

As I was coming back into the kitchen from the office I slipped on something and went flying across the kitchen floor slamming into the cabinets. It took me a minute to realize that there was something wet on the floor and then another minute to realize it was pee form Ginger (our 1 yr old Chiwawa).

Of course by this point I am completely freaking out because my legs and kitchen floor have dog pee all over them, my house is filled with smoke, and the shells are still int he oven with it on burning even more.

After I got up and wiped the pee up, I realized I hadn't opened the window int eh dinning room and I decided I should do that before I tried to get the shells out of the oven because more smoke would coming out. So I run into the dinning room, open the window, and turn around to go back to the kitchen when I almost step in dog poop! Now Ginger has not had this many accidents in months so I don't know what the heck was going on with her but she couldn't have picked a worse time. Now I couldn't leave the poop on the floor because god knows if I did that one of the kids would get into it, so off I went to pick that up while the shells are still burning.

Finally I get to the point where I can get the shells out. I turn the over off and slowly open the door. The smoke is so strong my eyes are burning and I can hardly breath, but somehow I manage to get them out and into the sink. What uses to be white soft taco shells are now black as cool and hard as rocks. Somehow in the midts of all of this I managed not to burn or ruin anythign else which I was sure was goign to happen.

Those that know me know I am a pretty darn good cook and I don't burn things or mess them up so this was a bit of a shock to me and I was not happy with myself. I decided that even though I had enough shells to try again I wouldn't because who knows what would have gone wrong a second time. We ate our tacos the normal way and they were really good. Everything else turned out great, and it was nice to have my sissy there with us.

If anyone has a good way of turning soft taco shells into bowls for Taco Salades please let me know because the recipe I got clearly didn't work.

My Sissy Is Home

My Sissy (sister) is coming home today and I think (hope) she will be here for good!

Most of my childhood I hated my sister. She came home from the hospital screaming and didn't stop for a year. Once she was able to walk and talk her soul mission in life was to pick on me.

The summer between my junior and senior year and her 8th grade and freshman year we finally grew to like each other. Our brother Nick was spending the summer with our Grandma at her house and Maryland and our baby brother was at the babysitters. This meant that it was just Steph and I all day long. We made great lunches together, watched our soaps, and talked allot. It was probably the best summer I ever had.

Since then Steph and I have barley been in the same city. First I went away to college. I didn't move back until a little before her senior year. Then she left for college in Bowling Green for 4 years. After she graduated with her pre med degree she moved back to C-bus for 1 year while she took a few extra classes to help her chances of getting into PA school. I didn't really get to see her much during that year because she found a job as a sleep tech which meant she worked third shift and if she wasn't at home sleeping during the day she was at school. Then Steph got accepted to the PA program in Marietta and she moved her little butt down there.

That move took place a year ago at this time, and she has spent the last year going to school all day studying all kinds if medical stuff (I don't get any of it). The second year of the PA program is spent doing rotations so the school stations the students in different parts of the state. Steph was lucky enough to be stationed in C-Bus. It almost didn't happen because they were having problems finding a place for her to do her orthopedic round, so our baby brothers dad stepped in and got her on at his office which just happens to be one of the best Orthopedic offices in the city.

I was so happy when I found out she was going to be coming home! I have missed my sissy so much and my kids just love their cool Aunt Stephy. We already have our first event scheduled, Sex and the City here we come. :)

This morning as I was cleaning the bathroom Ian came in and said "I Poop". I thought he was telling me he had pooped and needed changed but I didn't smell anything. So I bent down and pulled his diaper back but there was nothing there. I asked him if he meant he needed to poop and he shook his head, so then I asked him if he wanted to do it in the potty and he shook his head yes.

OMG, I quickly pulled his shorts and pull up down and put him on the potty where he proceeded to poop! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally after months of trying he did something in the toilet and it was a poop. Hopefully this means with in the next month or so I can be diaper free.

Wish me luck!

Pay Back's a Bitch!

If you were a fly on the wall in my car this is what you would have heard this afternoon.

Emma: Why didn't you pack me a dress this morning?

Me: Because I packed you a tank top and shorts.

Emma: But I wanted to wear a dress.

Me: Why does it matter if you had a dress on or your shorts?

Emma: Because Mady and Becca had dresses on and I didn't.

Me: So what.

Emma: Really why didn't you pack me a dress???

Me: Because I knew it was going to be really hot out and all your play dresses have sleeves so I thought the tank top would be cooler for you to wear.

Emma: But I wanted to wear a dress and the sleeves are short.

Me: Well you didn't tell me you wanted to wear a dress last night when I was packing your bag. I will pack one for you to wear on Monday.

Emma: NO I wanted to wear it today, Mady and Becca wont have dresses on Monday.

Me: Well I'm sorry but you can't change what you wore today.

Emma: (crying)

OK folks, she is only 4 years old and I am already having the clothes argument?! What am I going to do when she is 14????? I'm not sure what I was thinking but I called my mom hoping for some kind of comforting or help on this and all she did was laugh her ass off. Apparently I deserved this meltdown of Emma's because starting at the age of 2 I refused to wear anything my mom picked out for me. So maybe I did deserve that but really what will I do when she becomes a teenager if I'm having issues now. This thought scares the crap out of. So much so that I am going to go have a glass or two of wine.

All and this argument was taking place while Ian was sitting in his car seat kicking his legs and screaming at the top of his lungs because I yanked him off a toy after her rammed it into my foot at the sitters house.

It's going to be a long evening in the Wilson's House!!!

Real Men of Genius: Directions

Ok I am not sure what is going on this week but I think there may be something in the air because my husband had a moment (few hours) yesterday.

On Sunday we bought a new TV. It's our first High Definition one, we never really thought that the HD cable boxes would make that much of a differnce but once we got the TV home and had it hooked up to our regualr digital cable we instantly knew that we needed the HD.

Since Dave was off yesterday he decided to go up to the Time Warner office and exchange the boxes. He had called the customer service to see if there was anything special that would need to be done and the guy told him that there was nothign special invoved in hooking the HD box up so he could just go to the office on Olantangy River Rd and exchange the one we had.

Now here is where Dave screwed up, he didn't ask the guy what the exact address was and he left the house not knowing exactly where he was going. Dave is actually really good with directions so I am guessing he was relying a little to much on that because I got a phone call from him around 12:15. He had been driving around for about 40 minutes at that point because he couldn't find the place. Of course he was in a rotten mood, but he asked me to find the address. That was easier said then done. I got on Time Warner's website but I couldn't find any address's for them, so then I got on Yellow Pages and White Pages but the only address in Columbus I was finding was on Dublin Rd.

At that point Dave decided he would head over to the Dublin Rd location because what did he have to loose right? Of course he gets there and that store is vacant, go figure. Then he tried to call Time Warner but the lady placed him on hold. After about 30 minutes of sitting there on hold Dave called me back and asked me to look again. Me being the wonderful wife I am got back online to try and find something but I wasn't having any luck. One of my co-workers did say that she knew there was a Time Warner on Olantangy River Rd but she didn't know where.

In one last ditch attempt Dave headed back that way and by some miricle he found the store and was able to get the new box.

So the moral of this story is: If you've never been somewhere before ask for the full address or detailed directions.

Real (Wo)men of Genius: How much is it?

I have another great Real Women of Genius story for all of you. I don't want my friend to be exposed here so I will not be using her name. When she told me the story I am about to tell you I died of laughter.

Alright, so this friend of mine has a house she rents out. Apparently last night, or over the weekend her renters drove up to her house to pay her this months rent. So they hand her the money and she counts it, like most people would do. Then she hands her tenants $100.00 back and tells them they paid to much. Of course they didn't question her giving them money back and they went on their merry way!

Well a little while later my friend realizes that they had given her the right amount the first time and she got it confused with what her mortgage really is. See she charges them $100.00 more than what her mortgage cost her. So then she had to call them and explain that she was wrong and that $100.00 she gave them back she needed.

Could you imagine? I would have been so embarassed, but since it happened to her and not me I think it's hysterical!

My water babies

Tonight I decided to go out and water the flowers around 7 instead of 8. I usually wait until after 8 because the kids are in bed and I don't have to hassle with them while watering all the flower beds. It was so nice out today though I thought I would be nice and give them a treat.

Of course as soon as the hose came on they wanted in that water. At first I tried to keep them out of it and Emma was listening to me. Ian however could have cared less and he kept sticking his arm in and the water was running down his arm to his shirt. After about 5 minutes of fighting with him I finally gave up and decided to water my kids. They loved it, especially Ian. He giggled the entire time and would run right into the stream.

Emma enjoyed it too but she was a little more chicken about it. She would run up really fast and then just as she got to the water she would slow down and turn around so that only her back would get wet.

Once she was good and wet she had had enough and decided that the water was a little too cold so she wanted to come in. I think Ian would have played in it for an hour if I would have let him.

The Golden Bear

I wanted to post this yesterday but things were really crazy in my house. I decided I would go ahead and post it anyway even though the Memorial Tournament is over now.

Since The Jack Nicklaus Memorial Golf Tournament was held over the weekend I thought I would tell you all how The Golden Bear became part of our family. First though I am going to give Carrie a little tidbit of information about Jack because I just know how much she will appreciate it. Jack Nicklaus graduated from The Ohio State University, yep he is a Buckeye! :))

Ok so to the story, when my mom and dad were pregnant with my brother they were told after an ultrasound that they were having a girl. They figured this was true since they already had two of us girls. They bought some girl stuff and they picked out the name Rebecca and they never even considered it could be a boy. The entire time my mom was pregnant I prayed every night for a brother because I did not want another sister to torture me. Well my prayers were answered and they had a boy. Since they thought it was going to be a girl they never discussed boy names. So sitting in the hospital this amazing idea came to my dad and he asked if he could name my brother after his favorite athletes. Anyone who knew my dad would know that his favorite sport was golf, and if he had wanted to he could have been a professional golfer. Back to the story my mom agreed and my brother was named Nicklaus (Jack Nicklaus) Hogan (Ben Hogan) after my dads two favorite golfers.

So there you have it, how The Golden Bear joined our family!

Some Fun Adult Only Time

Last night Dave and I had a nice night out with a friend and my little sissy. My MIL too the kids for the weekend which is always so nice of her. So Dave and I took full advantage of that and had a blast.

We all went to the Funny Bone (comedy club)to see Kevin Polluck. Let me just tell you the man is hysterical and he does and unbelievable impression of Christopher Walken. If you've never heard it head on over to UTube. If I knew how to put the video on my post I would, but I'm not that smart when it comes to technology and my hubbie isn't up yet to help me (yes I know it's sad).

The opening comic was Tom Simmons who was pretty darn funny himself. He was selling t-shirts when we left that say I Hate People and any of you that know Dave know that is the perfect shirt for him so he bought one.

After the show we stopped by my sissy's new apartment. Just a quick note on my sister she is in Grad School to be a Physicians Assistant (almost a doctor). she just finished her first year which was all the classroom stuff. In about 2 weeks she will begin all her rotations and hands on learning and she was able to be posted here in Columbus, so she's back! :))) So we went to see her and her roommates place and let me just say that the house itself is amazing but the area not so good. She is about three or four blocks from the Ghetto. We did find out that since the Red Cross is so close to her house they have security that drives by every 15 minutes and the parking lot for the business across the street has a guard stationed 24 hours a day.

After we left her house we headed down to the Arena District and had some drinks at Gordon Beirsch. This is the second time Dave and I have been there and I think it's becoming a favorite place. Neither Dave or I like those club like places, we like to go somewhere to relax and talk. I also like to go somewhere where I don't feel uncomfortable because I am clothed. These girls now days where no clothes when they go out. It's so much worse than just short shorts. Anyway so we went and had some drinks and some conversation for a few hours before we headed home.

All in all it was a wonderful evening our with friends and a much needed break for both Dave and I.
