Falling Trees

This picture is a of a tree in our Tree Lawn (part of the yard between the street and the sidewalk) that is dead. I know you can't really tell from the picture because the other trees branches are in the way but trust me the thing is DEAD!

The trees that are in the Tree Lawn are the cities responsibility to take care of but they aren't doing a very good job. The tree has been dead since we moved in here over three years ago, but we didn't have any problems with it until this past winter. We got this really bad storm and a bunch of large branches came down.

This tree sits right on our property line and our neighbor ended up with a bunch of branches in his yard to so both he and Dave called the city to let them know that we had a dead tree and it's starting to loose large branches. They told both of us that they would cut it down this spring.

Well guess what it's still up! every time we have a storm or high winds it looses more branches. We've all called the city a bunch of times and we get the same stupid answer.

It's on the list of trees to come down and we will get to it soon.

So soon has come and gone my friends and I'm really starting to get ticked off!

Saturday while I was out shopping at Target we had a nasty storm come through the area. When I got home there was an enormous piece of the tree laying in our front yard along with a million smaller branches that came down and were sticking straight up out of the ground.

This is seriously getting ridiculous. I think this tree is going to come down completely here very soon and when that happens it's going to do one of two things.

1. Completely block our street and take some power lines down.

2. Come crashing through our bedroom.

I really don't want either of those things to happen but I don't know how to get the city over here to take care of it before one of them does happen.

Any suggestions????

I have a feeling they're waiting for nature to do their job for them.

I would take numerous pictures of the tree and damage that has been done, and then go and complain in person. Complain to the point of obnoxiousness, and maybe they'll take it down because they're tired of hearing from you.

My brother works for the power co as a tree trimmer - they are not going to cut down that tree until something 'terrible' happens OR if you and the neighbors GET really annoying. Seriously I am NOT kidding! Tell them you will hire an independent and send them the bill - see what reaction you get. Probably none. Ask WHEN the tree is scheduled to come down. B/c if it is not scheduled, it ain't happening!
