The Golden Bear

I wanted to post this yesterday but things were really crazy in my house. I decided I would go ahead and post it anyway even though the Memorial Tournament is over now.

Since The Jack Nicklaus Memorial Golf Tournament was held over the weekend I thought I would tell you all how The Golden Bear became part of our family. First though I am going to give Carrie a little tidbit of information about Jack because I just know how much she will appreciate it. Jack Nicklaus graduated from The Ohio State University, yep he is a Buckeye! :))

Ok so to the story, when my mom and dad were pregnant with my brother they were told after an ultrasound that they were having a girl. They figured this was true since they already had two of us girls. They bought some girl stuff and they picked out the name Rebecca and they never even considered it could be a boy. The entire time my mom was pregnant I prayed every night for a brother because I did not want another sister to torture me. Well my prayers were answered and they had a boy. Since they thought it was going to be a girl they never discussed boy names. So sitting in the hospital this amazing idea came to my dad and he asked if he could name my brother after his favorite athletes. Anyone who knew my dad would know that his favorite sport was golf, and if he had wanted to he could have been a professional golfer. Back to the story my mom agreed and my brother was named Nicklaus (Jack Nicklaus) Hogan (Ben Hogan) after my dads two favorite golfers.

So there you have it, how The Golden Bear joined our family!

Alright, good post. I guess your brother should be very happy that he isn't named Bucky or Brett like most of the of the boys and dogs in Wisconsin!

Very cute. I will get you ... when you least expect it ;)

I couldn't resist throwing that in there just for you. :)

I'm sure you will get me back when I least expect it, but I'm a good sport. :)
